Julia Coakley is Chief Operating Officer of the Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), the representative body for the UK and Ireland MGA sector. With almost 30 years of experience across broking, underwriting, insurer relations, customer management and trade association leadership, Julia has held senior roles spanning both the broking and insurer markets.
Since joining the MGAA in January 2021, Julia has played a key role in supporting the continued growth and development of the delegated authority sector, working closely with MGAs, insurers, brokers and industry stakeholders. Prior to the MGAA, Julia held senior relationship management positions with the Motor Insurers’ Bureau and Insurance Fraud Bureau, and earlier in her career held leadership, underwriting and client management roles with Chubb and Aston Lark.
Recognised for a deep understanding of insurance operations, distribution and market collaboration, Julia is committed to promoting professionalism, innovation and high standards across the insurance sector. She has dedicated time to mentoring and supporting emerging talent, championing the MGAA’s Next Gen programme and helping to develop the next generation of insurance professionals
