Kevin Hancock

Society of Insurance Broking (SIB)

Kevin is managing director of Yutree Insurance, based in Newmarket and a commercial insurance broker and underwriting agency offering commercial solutions for clients and brokers.

Prior to Yutree, Kevin was responsible for the development of underwriting facilities and niche products across a major UK broking business following the sale of his previous insurance business to that firm.

Kevin is a former director of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) and was chair of BIBA’s general insurance brokers committee before becoming the inaugural chair of the Smaller Brokers’ Advisory Board.

Late in 2018, the Chartered Insurance Institute formed the SIB—the professional body dedicated to those working in the insurance broking sector. The core objective of the SIB is to improve consumer confidence and trust in the profession. Kevin is the inaugural chair of the SIB.

He has chaired the national broker panel for Pool Re, the government-backed reinsurer for terrorism cover in the UK.

Heavily involved in the local business community, Kevin sits on the committee of the Newmarket Festival, organising community-based events and raising funds for local good causes.

He was the founder of the Newmarket Network and, more recently, the Anglia Business Club.

Kevin lives near Newmarket with his partner, Laura, with three children and a giant cat. He is a driver for and owner of Jemco Racing, a motor racing team competing in the UK and Europe. He is also into rugby, scuba diving and cricket.
